Stray bull stuck in metal ladder is rescued by locals in Uttarakhand
What seemed like an ordinary morning in a serene village turned out to be an urgent situation for locals as they tried to rescue an animal in distress.
DEHRADUN: A team of villagers in Uttarakhand made efforts to rescue a stray bull whose head got stuck in the rungs of a metal ladder.
In the video footage of the incident, one can see the quick reaction shown by locals in an otherwise very dangerous situation.
Distress Alert in the Village
According to eyewitnesses, the bull was grazing near the houses of a group of people in the village until it found its head trapped in the rungs of the metal ladder resting on the wall.
Trying to free itself from the heavy metal ladder which kept falling on its neck, the terrified bull tried to run around in the direction of walls of the village.
Soon enough, due to the commotion created, some local villagers came out and realized the danger of the situation because the bull could easily hurt itself or even attack someone in the process of getting freed.
The Rescue Operation
Since the bull was moving erratically due to fear of being trapped in the metal structure, the idea of going near the animal was very risky. However, two local villagers succeeded in reaching out to the animal and holding on to the outer part of the ladder.
Distracting the bull and stabilizing it, another villager arranged the rungs of the ladder in accordance with the direction of the horns of the animal. After a while of struggle and moving the metal framework, they managed to pull out the ladder from the bull’s head.
The wounded animal left the spot through an alleyway. Villagers are usually warned by the local government officials and animal activists to keep construction material, metal frameworks, and plastic garbage away to prevent similar accidents.
